It’s always a good day when we can bring you word of new Facebook features that will help your business grow and get you closer to determining a positive Return On Investment (ROI) for your social media strategy.

Today, we bring to you the news that Facebook has rolled out seven call-to-action buttons you can select to appear on your business Page.

Starting in the U.S. and planning to be distributed worldwide by next year, these call-to-action buttons were released with the intention of bringing Page admins a better way to reach business objectives.

Depending on your goals for your Facebook page – whether that is driving traffic, sign-ups, buyers, or a download of your app – you can add a call-to-action to the left of the Like button to push visitors to complete the action you desire.

Here are your options for calls to action:

  • Book Now
  • Contact Us
  • Use App
  • Play Game
  • Shop Now
  • Watch Video

These options aren’t totally new to the Facebook community. Facebook ads have been flaunting these buttons on the social network for a while now, and have reportedly lifted the click-through rate for ads 2.85x.

This increase obviously made Facebook developers confident they could make admins happy by adding this function to Pages as well.

The release of these buttons couldn’t have had better timing. Facebook has been getting a lot of scrutiny about their upcoming privacy policy change and the roll-out of their backdating feature. However, both were refuted when we reported to you the real positive story about the privacy update and how ethics can help you use the backdating feature fairly.

The ethical use of the call-to-action buttons have come up as well. What if Pages use the link opportunity to take visitors to malicious sites? VentureBeat reached out personally to Facebook and were reassured that they would uphold their “Site Integrity Efforts” as they do on all Facebook features to monitor abusive activity.

Let’s see how to add this button to your Facebook page:

1. Next to your Like button on your Page in the cover photo, you will find a drop down for you to set up your call-to-action button.

2. Facebook will take you through a wizard to choose your call-to-action. The first question has two parts. A) Choose your call-to-action phrase.

B) Choose where you would like to send people who click on the button.

3. Decide if you would like iOS and Android users to visit the same web page or would you rather them be linked to your app if you have one.

4. Save changes and watch the clicks roll in!
